large, heart shaped fruit varies from bright purplish-black to red skin with

Resembles

A
fairly new self-fertile sweet cherry recently developed in Summerland, BC. Large
bright red fruit that matures 5-7 days after Lapins, with good flavor. The tree
is very precocious. Requires pruning to prevent size problems. Sweetheart is
a cross between Van and Newstar.
Fruit
shape is oblong and symmetrical. Skin color at picking maturity is red and flesh
color is pink to red. Ripens even and texture is firm and juicy. Fruit has exceptional
shipping and storage characteristics. Flavor is sweet and mildly acid. Ripens
3 days after Brooks and 7 days ahead of Bing.
