Bartlett Bosc Comice Concorde D'Anjou Noble Russet Bosc Red Clapp
Bartlett
Leading pear for canning and fresh market sales. Large, golden yellow fruit with a slight blush. Smooth, juicy, tender, white flesh. Partially self-fruitful. Fireblight susceptible.

Bosc
Flesh is yellowish-white, tender, aromatic, juicy and smooth textured. Flavor is rich and sweet. Stores well. Excellent for canning, baking and eating fresh.
Requires a pollinizer.

Concorde® (USPP # 9192)
This cross between Conference and Comice has large green fruit with prominent lenticels. Stores well. Fruit is tender and juicy with very good flavor and aroma.

Comice
Large yellow fruit. Excellent dessert-quality pear. Flesh is tender with excellent flavor. Skin color is yellow with a slight blush. Best when used fresh. Tree is large, upright and vigorous. Needs a pollinizer.

D'Anjou
A leading variety of winter pear. Medium to large fruit size, round with a short neck. Yellow to russeted yellow. Mild, fine-textured, melting white flesh with a delicate aroma. Requires a pollinizer.

Noble Russet™ Bosc
This very smooth russet Bosc pear begins to russet July1, increasing to an almost solid russet by harvest. Fruit size and shape is similar to standard Bosc.

Red Clapp
An early to ripen, early season, medium to large fruit with bright red checks. Flesh is medium firm, white, fine-grained with good flavor. Requires a pollinizer.

Hosui
Medium large, brownish, russeted skin. Juicy, sweet, fine-grained, crisp, off-white flesh; 12% sugar content. Stores through December. Favorite in several taste tests. Pollinate with Chojuro, Twentieth Century, Bartlett, Shinseiki or Shinko. A mid-season variety.

Shinko
Medium to large size, oval, brownish-green fruit; russeted skin often with an attractive reddish tinge. The flesh is firm, crisp, yellowish-white, apple like with a rich, sweet, distinctive flavor. A very good quality late fruit with very good storage life. Pollinate with Chojuro, Twentieth Century, Bartlett, Kikusui, or Hosui. Harvest early to mid-September.

Shinseiki
Round, medium to large, yellow fruit with little or no russet; medium tough and thick. The surface is fairly smooth, semi-gloss, lenticels are light brown, small to medium, slightly raised, hexagonal or roundish. Crisp, creamy white flesh; mild, sweet flavor, aroma is faint. Tastes best when tree ripened. Retains quality longer than any mid-season variety. Hangs on the tree in good condition for 4-6 weeks. Stores through January; keeps well under refrigeration. Pollinate with Bartlett, Chojuro, Nijisseiki or Hosui. Sufficiently self-fruitful for single variety home garden planting.

Twentieth Century
A mid-season variety. Harvests mid to late August. Fruit is medium size, with greenish-yellow skin. Flesh is white, firm, crisp, very juicy, and sweet, but slightly tart. Partially self-fertile; pollinate with Shinseiki, Hosui, Chojuro, Bartlett, Yali, or Tsu Li.
