Plum Tree Rootstocks

Bantam Flyer.png
Krymsk® 86
Peach/Plum hybrid with amazing root strength and outstanding anchorage. Tree size similar to Lovell with a wide spreading root system. Tolerant to wet and heavy soils. Cold hardy and high PH tolerance. Most popular almond rootstock for the Sacramento Valley. Nonpareil compatible.

Bantam™ (USPP #35672P2)

A premium rootstock that is great for high-density plantings. Designed to reduce vigor, Bantam™ delivers excellent anchorage and adapts well to heavy soils. It resists root knot nematodes and tolerates water-saturated soils and salinity, all without root suckering. Bantam™ appears to be compatible with all plum, prune, and interspecific plum hybrids. Its upright growth habit and well-anchored root system allows for planting without trellis, with only minimal staking required early in the life of the orchard.

Myro 29C
Roots tend to be intermediate depth, good vigor. Medium to heavy soil. Wide range of soil and moisture types. Less suckering
than Marianna 26-24. Susceptible to Bacterial canker.

Contoller 6

Controller 6 is a peach rootstock with medium vigor. It has moderate resistance to root knot nematode, low suckering, size control ability, and less wood from dormant and summer pruning.

M40 Marianna

It has been observed that Marianna M40 has good wet soil tolerance, with the potential for better anchorage and reduced sucker production. The M40 may eventually displace 26-24 and other plum rootstocks.
